Our mission is to help families raise mindful, nature-conscious children by turning learning about nature into a fun, shared adventure.
We provide a new way to make 4-9 year old children fall in love with nature through storytelling and fun environmental learning missions. The Secret Protectors Club invites your child to help make this planet just a bit healthier and friendlier, starting with your own neighborhood.
Real-World Nature Heroes to inspire your child
Every letter from River and Tom features a real-life Nature Hero...with a special video message for children once they have completed each mission! These Nature Heroes are real people who have made it their job to protect oceans, animals, rivers, and everything in the natural world. Their stories show children that protecting the planet is something real people do — and something children can begin doing too!
1. An exciting letter arrives
Children receive a fun, illustrated letter from River & Tom, introducing a real Nature Hero and a real environmental challenge in a relevant way.
2. Meet a real-world Nature Hero
Through warm, age-appropriate storytelling, children meet real people who are protecting the natural world.
3. Receive a nature mission(s)
Each letter includes related hands-on missions / outdoor learning activities (1 per letter in the app, 12-15 per letter in the homeschool packs) that connect to the child’s environment and build age-appropriate skills.
4. Become a protector
Children take action — planting, noticing, repairing, collecting, exploring, caring — and start to see themselves as protectors of the world around them.
